Trim Levels (Exterior)
Fans of the VW microbus body style have to wait until 2022 for the I.D. Buzz. When the vehicle does arrive, it will be available in one trim level. The Buzz is part of a more extensive electric-only line that Volkswagen is bringing to the market. The body style is that of the traditional microbus. It is a long vehicle that catches your eye, not only from its size but also the color. While the paint colors have yet to be officially released, pictures have the Buzz in both yellow and orange.
Rather than using a traditional key to enter the vehicle, you'll be able to glide your hand across a specific sensor and the doors will open automatically. Once you are comfortable inside, the doors will close automatically.
Engine (Power) & Performance
When you open the hood of the 2022 I.D. Buzz, you'll find an all-electric engine with a battery big enough to cover 270 miles before you charge it. The new microbus will have an impressive 369 horsepower in the engine. The original gas-only model only created 25 horsepower. It's an all-wheel drive vehicle, and you can recharge it to 80% capacity in 30 minutes with the available fast charger.
When you are ready to leave, step on the gas pedal and press the D on the steering wheel. When it comes to performance, you'll be able to get the I.D. Buzz from 0 to 60 in less than five seconds on the open road. The microbus is designed for long trips on the weekend. If you need it for work, there is plenty of interior room to haul any cargo necessary. In a nod to the future, the Buzz also features level three autonomous capability.
